Case Hardened — Blue Gem
The more blue on the play side, the pricier. Top seeds with a blue AK top or Karambit blade go for tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Community judgementHeat Treated — the blue anneal
A relative of Case Hardened: the same blue patches, but on the Desert Eagle and Five-SeveN. Copies with a blue playside are the ones collectors want.
Community judgementMarble Fade — Fire & Ice
A perfect Fire & Ice is red and blue only, with no yellow on the playside; that happens on the Karambit, Bayonet, Flip Knife and Gut Knife alone. The top seed is 412 (1st Max).
Community judgementFade — gradient percentage
The fade percentage is computed from the seed and lands between 80 and 100 %. Half of all seeds give 90 %+, so collectors chase 99 %+ and above all the single 100 % seed each weapon has.
Deterministic calculationAmber Fade — the amber gradient
Computed the same way as Fade but from its own table: the percentage depends on the seed alone, on an 80–100 % scale.
Deterministic calculationAcid Fade — the acid gradient
SSG 08 only: the acid gradient percentage is computed from the seed by an open algorithm.
Deterministic calculationCrimson Web — webs
Large centered webs on the play side are prized: the more webs, the higher the price.
Community judgementDoppler — phases & gems
Phases 1–4, Ruby, Sapphire and Black Pearl on the Doppler and Emerald on the Gamma Doppler are set by the paint index, not by the seed.
Set by paint indexCharm patterns
Charms arrived in CS2 with the Armory update in October 2024 — keychains that hang on your weapon. The first capsules were Small Arms (16 miniature guns) and Missing Link (17 characters), with more added later. Like skins, every copy carries a pattern index.
Semi-Precious: colour by pattern
100,000 variations split into three zones. The closer the index is to 100,000, the deeper the purple — and the pricier the charm; the middle gives teal transitions.Remove & move
A charm isn’t consumed: take it off and re-attach it with a Charm Detachment pack (each charm ships with a free one for 3 removals; extras ~$1 or from weekly drops).
Valuable patterns
The most prized are the “deep purple” Semi-Precious near 100,000 and specific seeds like Diamond Dog and the blue Chicken Lil — rare patterns resell well above ordinary ones.

What is float
Float value is a number from 0 to 1 baked into every skin copy when it drops: the lower, the better the condition. Wear bounds: FN up to 0.07, MW to 0.15, FT to 0.38, WW to 0.45, BS to 1. Each skin has its own range — not every one can be Factory New.
Paint Seed
Paint Seed defines the texture placement. These seeds are prized by collectors and sell for multiples of the base price.
How to check your skin
The seed is right there in the item description in your Steam inventory (the Pattern Template line), and the exact float and pattern are in our checker.
