Market price feeds

We read 13 market feeds directly and keep our own copy of each; 9 of them have been read since the last server restart. The table shows how many items each feed returned and when it was last read.

The price we show

The best buy price across every market we are connected to, rather than a market-wide average. An average would iron out the very thing people come here for — the gap between one market and the next.

For skins, the headline price is Factory New. When nobody offers Factory New, we take the first wear that has an offer, in the order the game lists them.

Collection trends

A collection chart follows each skin’s price relative to its current level and averages those ratios, so one expensive skin does not dominate the line. Our own points are recorded whenever the price map refreshes, about every 30 minutes, and a point is kept only if at least 60% of the collection’s skins have a price at that moment. Older history comes from Steam sales and is scaled to meet the market level where the two series join.

Market cap

We add up every item currently listed, each at its median price (or the lowest price when there is no median) times the listed quantity. That total is multiplied by a supply factor, because Valve does not publish how many items exist, so the result is an estimate.

Weekly drop pool

The active pool is read from two public sources: SkinSniper’s weekly drops tracker and a long-running Steam community guide. When a game update lands before the sources catch up, an editor can enter the pool by hand; whichever is newer wins. Percentages, when shown, are community estimates of each item’s share of the drop: Valve publishes no odds for the weekly drop.

Current source: SkinSniper. Our copy of the pool last changed on Sep 26, 01:54 PM UTC.

Item catalogue

Items, collections, cases and rarities come from the open CSGO-API dataset. We check it for updates regularly, and new items get their own page within about an hour of a game update.
